What is National Charity League?

Founded in 1925 by a group of women in Los Angeles interested in philanthropic work, National Charity League, Inc. now has 156 Chapters in 16 states with more than 39,000 total members, and in 2008 celebrated 50 years of success and growth.  NCL’s unique focus on the mothers and their daughters working side by side serving the community is the keystone to NCL’s success and growth.

    • All Chapters embrace the philosophy of strengthening the mother-daughter relationship and the communities in which they exist through philanthropic work and the development of future community leaders.

    • The organization has a solid foundation and the number of new chapters is increasing at a greater pace than ever before.  NCL mother-daughter teams nationwide are responsible, dedicated, skilled volunteers actively engaged in local community work in 17 states across the country. To date, there are over 160 Chapters, five of which are located in the Portland-Metro area: Portland, Oregon Rose, Blue Heron, Sunnyside and our own, Lake Oswego.
